Call for Abstracts/Expression of Interest (EOI) to present
Individuals or collaborative groups are invited to submit abstracts/EOI using the link below for sessions that relate to the theme of The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners' Annual Conference and/or Quality Symposium.
Our 2019 theme is: Realising the potential in primary health care: technology, teamwork and equity.

This conference is unique in that it is presented by GPs, for GPs. It is an opportunity to share your practical knowledge, experience, and thinking with your colleagues facing primary health care in terms of equitable access to care, recruiting and retaining a high-quality GP workforce, and setting quality standards for general practice. The 2019 Conference will include (but not limited to) the following streams:
- Clinical
- Mā
ori health and Equity - Future technology
- Diversity
- Mental health
- Medical humanities
We encourage and welcome all in-practice and external healthcare providers, customers and other stakeholders to consider sharing their experiences and expectations.
How to submit your abstract/EOI
We welcome abstracts/EOI that look towards the future and explore how to create and sustainably deliver high-quality,
- Oral
- Workshop
- Poster
Please include which theme best represented your abstract/EOI in the submission process via the link below:

Below are guidelines to help you format your abstract/EOI and worked examples are available below:
Your research presentation/poster abstract/EOI should include the following and will be allocated 15 minutes to present:
- Aim (what gap will be filled)
- What conference theme(s) if any does this abstract/EOI address
- Methods (include
type of study design and methods to ensure high quality) - Results (what you found)
- Conclusion (so what statement)

Your workshop abstract/EOI should include the following and at the time of submission you should indicate how much time is needed (if the ideal time is not available what is the minimum time acceptable):
- Title
- Presenters
- What content is being delivered
- What delivery method(s) e.g. didactic talk, role plays, small groups, questions and answer
- What skills will be transferred

Please also ensure your abstract/EOI includes the following formatting:
- Title and author(s) surname(s) to be in capital letters, bold, and the name of the presenting author should be underlined, e.g. ALLEN Rose, BAKER Fred, Department of General Practice & Primary Health Care, University of Marlborough, PB 123456, Nelson, 0987, New Zealand
- Standard scientific abbreviations should be included in parenthesis after the first use of the full word(s)
- Do not include titles or degrees
- Arial 12 point, single spacing, do not indent paragraphs
- No longer than 250 words
- Check spelling and grammar
- All abstracts/EOI need to stipulate how they have address equity issues (e.g. ethnicity, gender, age, and rurality).
Registration and Expenses
A condition of acceptance is that at least one author or nominated author registers for the Conference. Presenters are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and registration expenses.

- Notification of acceptance - Friday, 26 April 2019
